Wellness Center Tschuggen Berg Oase (Arosa, Switzerland) by architect Mario Botta (b 1943), Botta's approach is to create a context marked by the contrast of natural elements. Arosa is like a natural bowl surrounded by mountains, a place where the comparison between man & nature is pronounced & the ancestral fight between man & mountain is ongoing. The idea was to create structures that appear to emerge from the landscape, like artificial trees, as a metaphor of nature. Photo © Urs Homberger
