Malcolm X. "Detroit Red" as he was originally known, despite being born in the Lansing area, was a tremendous orator, and a crucial figure in the "Black Power" movement, more so than the Civil Rights Era.

Malcolm X, born Malcolm Little. a.k.a Detroit Red & El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz; a tremendous orator and extraordinary figure in the Civil Rights era. His response to the injustices of African-Americans to defend themselves "by any means necessary" gained him a large number of followers and critics. His beliefs evolved over time, much like that of his life from troubled youth to prominent leader & advocate for human rights. He was indeed, phenomenal.
