      Kitchen island???? DYI project - makes a unique piece to add character to any space. You could do an island, coffee table or dining table depending on the size of the door used. Note: to prevent the paint from chipping either further, a coat or two of polyurethane was used. They also placed a 1/4" tempered glass sheet over the top to ensure an even surface area (since its clear its hard to see here).
