In Our South, we're Believers. So, Sunday morning is a sacred gathering of faith and fellowship, often in the same beautiful old church of our parents and grandparents. (Pictured here is Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Darien, Georgia, chartered in 1843)
Brian Brown gets lost a lot—on purpose. The self-taught photographer behind the Vanishing South Georgia and Vanishing Coastal Georgia projects has been archiving the state’s past since 2005. That was the year he moved back to his hometown of Fitzgerald and noticed all of the places that had disappeared, including the tobacco barn on his family’s farm. Photo Credit: Brian Brown.
