Jaguarundi is a medium sized wild cat, which belongs to the Felidae family. It is slightly larger than the common house cat. The Latin name for this species is Puma yagouaroundi. The range is from Arizona throughout Central America and South America.

I would love to someday take a photo like this. There are a lot of big cats in Africa, but this guy is found right here in North America!

The US Fish and Wildlife Service declared the eastern cougar officially extinct Wednesday March 2011. This is so very sad to see any species labeled extinct. What have we done?
