HAPPY 2015! Toast of the Town by Enoch Bolles, 1941

Vargas and the Borzoi - In addition to Alberto Vargas's illustrations of Diana the Huntress, Vargas featured two Borzoi once again during his era with Playboy Magazine in the 1960's. “They’re watchdogs, Mr Tate, but I usually don’t let them.” Vargas had several beautiful illustrations featuring smaller dogs but the Borzoi seemed to be his favorite when it came to the larger dogs.

Alberto Vargas - 1947 Year Book Varga Girl from Esquire Magazine - "SITTING PRETTY" - "Now fashions change and hats go strange and colors reign and fade, Which makes it tough to strut their stuff for every little maid, But why complain that life's a pain when beach clothes are the passion And I should pine when curves like mine will always always be in fashion!" - This beautiful long legged blonde by Vargas will always be in Fashion, even 67 years after being painted!

Alberto Vargas I always like the hair over one eye - gives them a sense of mystery. Must be a carry-over from my youth when Veronica Lake was in style. This painting is from October 1968.
