Anna (Deborah Kerr) and King Mongkut (Yul Brynner) in "The King and I".

Hands down my all time favorite movie. The King and I (1956) This musical masterpiece tells the true story of Englishwoman Anna Leonowens (Deborah Kerr), who comes to Siam as a teacher to the royal court in the 1860s and finds herself at odds with the stubborn monarch (Yul Brynner). Shall..we dance -dumdumdum?
with Yul Brynner & Deborah Kerr, 1956 . this was my Mom's second favorite film (second only to South Pacific). We watched it whenever it was on tv. She loved the "Shall We Dance" segment the most. She thought Yul Brynner was handsome. I'm so sad she died before we could get this on vhs and she could watch it whenever she wanted.
1956 ~ with Deborah Kerr & Yul Brynner: Anna Leonowens is one feisty teacher when she arrives in Bangkok to teach the King's children. Fun musical and when all is said and done (and sung) everyone learns a lesson or two. :) Yul Brenner, the best king of all time.
The King and I (Yul Brynner, Deborah Kerr, Rita Moreno) ["You shall sit when I sit and kneel when I kneel, etc, etc, etc!" watching this film, I certainly enjoyed getting to know the characters!]
