    I love these! Animated timers that you can put on the projector. Gives students a visual for the time they have remaining. Plus a fun surprise (noise cue) when time is up! :)

    middle school textmapping - bloody heck is that impressive - I wonder if it can be modified for high school too (God knows they hate reading, and I feel like this would help those who struggle with it more - plus it seems like more fun then just sitting there reading some text).

    What School Lunches Look Like In 20 Countries Around The World This has a cool idea brewing in me... give students a series of pictures of a student from a different country and have them write a "day in the life" with school vocabulary. Then, based on what they learn, they will write a snapshot journal based on what they think after school would be like. (this could be spiraled all over the place!)

    Our first assignment was a "Social Media Profile" get to know you activity. The kids fill out information about themselves and write four "status updates" from the summer. Imagine this in Spanish!!

    Instead of a "treasure box", these are coupons that students earn, like switch seats for a day, sit at the teacher's desk, job swap, bring a teddy bear to school, etc. (As a aparent, I LOVE this b/c it means the child isn't bringing home stuff we end up losing or throwing away! Simplify!!!)
