75 Incorrectly Used Words That Can Make You Look Dumb | Inc.com <<< This is actually helpful! Some of the articles similar to this one are really basic, but this has a lot of useful information..
Ever since I first mentioned I was writing a book that imagined the great authors writing software, I've encountered a steady stream of skeptics who react to the premise with eye-rolls or incredulity.
At some point I would like to be writing for a living. Hopefully at that point I will still enjoy it and consider it play. If I do this would again be considered to be of the storyteller personality type, and show qualities of continued desire and inherent attraction.

These self portraits by some of the most famous authors' in history are fascinating, incredible works of art. Clearly this lot were oozing so much talent they simply couldn't contain it... Being this talented in something other than what you're famous for is simply unfair! #SylviaPlath #HunterSThompson #EdgarAllanPoe #TheBellJar #EECummings #MarkTwain #DHLawrence #AllenGinsberg ...BTW,Please Check this out: http://artcaffeine.imobileappsys.com
Sylvia Plath’s poetic talent should go unquestioned, but as Plath fans will know, she first intended to become a visual artist, and some of her earliest work remained hidden away in the family attic until 1996. In a collection of Plath’s work entitled Eye Rhymes: Sylvia Plath’s Art of the Visual, which features sketches, photographs, and portraits—such as this brooding 1951 self-portrait—that represent Plath’s work while an art student at Smith College.
Sylvia Plath self portrait. I find this very revealing.

nypl: Happy 112th Birthday to John Steinbeck, American writer and author of literature favorites like The Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden, and Of Mice and Men! This photo of him comes from our Berg Collection located in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. Step into one of our NYPL branches and check out a book on or about John Steinbeck.
Some of my favorite books are written by him - he truly understood the beauty of California! John Steinbeck (American, 1902–1968), writer of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath.
John Steinbeck (American, 1902–1968), writer of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath, gives writing tips during his interview in the Fall 1975 issue of The Paris Review. Here is the first. “Abandon the idea that you are ever going to finish. Lose track of the 400 pages and write just one page for each day, it helps. Then when it gets finished, you are always surprised.”
John Steinbeck's 6 Tips on Writing “The formula seems to lie solely in the aching urge of the writer to convey something he feels important to the reader”
I respect the writer, but did not enjoy "Of Mice and Men" Six Tips on Writing from John Steinbeck.
John Ernst Steinbeck, Jr. (February 27, 1902 – December 20, 1968) was an American writer. He is widely known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath (1939) and East of Eden (1952) and the novella Of Mice and Men (1937). As the author of twenty-seven books, including sixteen novels, six non-fiction books and five collections of short stories, Steinbeck received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962.

The state of most artists is a state of being broken. As your art progresses through life, it becomes more complete as you learn to exercise it. Art is exercise in showing truth in visual form.
