Gorgeous! I would love to get lost in this library daily.National Library, Vienna, Austria (doesn't it look like the library in beauty and the beast?)

It’s the oldest public library in the English-speaking world.  Chetham Library in Manchester, England, was founded in 1653 for the education of “the sons of honest, industrious and painful parents”. It holds more than 100,000 volumes of printed books, of which 60,000 were printed before 1851, and was the meeting place of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

CLEMENTINUM, Prague: Home of the National Library of the Czech Republic, the Clementinum is housed in a series of historic buildings, the oldest dating from the 11th century.

Mafra Palace Library, Mafra, Portugal - Since its opening in 1771, the Mafra Palace Library has been home to a colony of tiny bats; they roost behind the cases in winter, and in the orchard outside in the summer, swooping in during the night to eat insects which would otherwise damage the books. #libraries #books #amwriting #decor
