Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - Summer 2013 - A thriller novel about the dynamics of a long-term relationship.
This is next on my list - timing it with the release of the movie in October and doing a book club meetup for both. :)
Gone Girl - Gone Girl is a contemporary thriller novel by American writer Gillian Flynn. Crown Publishing Group published the novel in June 2012 and it soon made the New York Times Best Seller list. The novel's principal suspense comes from an uncertainty about the main character, Nick Dunne, and whether he killed his wife, Amy Dunne.
Gone Girl - This book Is good. Started to sound similar to what happened to Lacy Peterson but took a very twisted turn.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. This is one of my favorite books. After I read the book, I always watch the movie.
Rebecca | author Daphne du Maurier | From "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again" to "And the ashes blew towards us with the salt wind of the sea" a classic tale worth reading over & over again.
Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier: a young and naive woman marries a wealthy, worldly widower. She is haunted by the reminders everywhere of his beautiful first wife, Rebecca. A beautifully-written classic that keeps one guessing to the end. The movie starred Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine and is also excellent.

The extraordinary #1 New York Times bestseller that is now a major motion picture, Markus Zusak's unforgettable story is about the ability of books to feed the soul. It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still. Liesel Meminger is a foster girl living outside of Munich, who scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books.

You Should Have Known: Jean Hanff Korelitz... a therapist who just wrote a book (you should have known) has her life torn apart by things had never known..about her husband. Really good read, as the woman stuggles to regain a normal life for her 12 yr old son and herself.
You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz - After 150 glossy pages detailing her successful career, upscale lifestyle and perfect marriage, Grace’s life swerves off the tracks. She flees the upper east side of Manhattan to hideout with her son in an unheated lakeside cottage, losing some things and gaining others, until (surprise!) everything works out for the best. And to think it might have been a real thriller!
You should have known / Jean Hanff Korelitz. Dismayed by the ways in which women delude themselves, Grace is also the author of a book You Should Have Known, in which she cautions women to really hear what men are trying to tell them. But weeks before the book is published a chasm opens in her own life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only an ongoing chain of terrible revelations.
You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz | Grace is the author of the forthcoming You Should Have Known, in which she calls upon women to pay attention to their first impressions of men. But before the book is published, a chasm opens in her own life. Left behind in the wake of a very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN by Paula Hawkins. After reading the synopsis of this book I was very excited to read it, but that's where the excitement stopped. People are touting this novel as a psychological thriller and its far from it. The last 50 pages are somewhat exciting but nothing special. Mostly the drunk, stupid ramblings of an alcoholic that were tedious and boring.

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn: Gillian Flynn's debut novel is a literary thriller that will shock and repulse you, even as it draws you inexorably into its tangled, sadistic web of deceit, secrets, and horrific revelations. With her vivid characters and sharp-edged dialogue, Flynn is a writer to watch!...
Sharp Objects: A Novel: Gillian Flynn: I was disappointed in this one. Ive read her other books. They were great. This one was too predictable, but of course, I had to read it.
"To say this is a terrific debut novel is really too mild. I haven't read such a relentlessly creepy family saga since John Farris's All Heads Turn as the Hunt Goes By, and that was thirty years ago, give or take. Sharp Objects isn't one of those scare-and-retreat books; its effect is cumulative. I found myself dreading the last thirty pages or so but was helpless to stop turning them." – Stephen King ~Ainsley #gillianflynn #thriller #fiction

Found mentally altered in Central Park, the headmaster of an elite boarding school imparts a story that is shaped by complicated memories, the evolution of a loving relationship and a tragedy he cannot comprehend.
The headmaster's wife, by Thomas Christopher Greene. A man found running naked in Central Park is unusual, even by jaded New York City standards. But when that man turns out to be Arthur Winthrop, respected headmaster of Vermont's venerable Lancaster private boarding school, the event becomes noteworthy. Raves and faves 2015

The Headmasters Wife by Thomas Christopher Greene. Quick read; was somewhat disturbing through the first half and then got more interesting in the second half once you start reading it through a different lens. (Finished 6/10/15)
The Headmaster's Wife ~ by: Thomas Christopher Greene - Greene's haunting tale tracks the unraveling of a marriage. It starts eerily, with a naked man's arrest in New York City's Central Park, then twists back in time through love, grief, betrayal, and love again.
The Headmaster's Wife: Thomas Christopher Greene Luminous and atmospheric, bringing to life the tight-knit enclave of a quintessential New England boarding school, the novel is part mystery, part love story and an exploration of the ties of place and family. Beautifully written and compulsively readable, The Headmaster’s Wife stands as a moving elegy to the power of love as an antidote to grief.
The Headmaster's Wife, by Thomas Christopher Greene - Arthur Winthrop, headmaster Lancaster School, is found wandering around naked in snow-covered Central Park in New York City, and as he explains to the authorities what brought him to this disturbing situation you'll think the book is about his affair with a female student named Betsy Pappas. Nothing is as it appears. It's unpredictable and well written. Recommend
