I love this -- students created dictionary entries of their names with information about themselves. Then they put them in alphabetical order, and created guide words for the top of the page. Vocabulary 2. "Vocab Kite." The child is given a new vocabulary word and a dictionary. Using the pre-assembled kite bow, they will write down their word, guide words, the definition, the page number it was found on, and an illustration of the word. The kites can then be hung around the room so that students can see and review the words.
Great activity when teaching dictionaries, using student names... super cute!
. Students create a dictionary entry using their names. The definitions are descriptions of themselves and then students put the class in abc and add guide words to the top.
Create a "fakebook" page for a character...my students have done this, but I never could find a good template! They just created it on a piece of posterboard, but this would be great to give them a better idea of the layout.
