Actress Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993) From Mark Shaw Photographic Archive Photographed for LIFE in 1953, Audrey Hepburn, under the hair dryer, smokes a cigarette. In 1953, Shaw, who shot for Life magazine, had an all-access pass to photographing Audrey on the Paramount set of Bill Wilder’s Sabrina, one of my favorite films. Shooting over 60 rolls of film on and around the set during the weeks he spent with the star, he created an amazing array of photos that captured the budding ingénue’s charm and grace.

Audrey Hepburn died from Carcinoid Cancer in her appendix. Like other celebrity Carcinoid victims, the media gives the wrong cancer type for whatever reason. Maybe because they want to report something they feel others can more commonly relate to or understand? Maybe because they just have the wrong information?
