A small puppy wondered up to U.S. Marines from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion 6th Marines, in Marjah, Afghanistan on *****. Sgt. Robert Huff and Cpl. Patrick O’Rourke with a Military Police Platoon rescue an Afghan child from encroaching flood waters in the Nari Shahi village in the Beshood District of eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province on July 28. The flooding was caused when more than 6 inches of rain enveloped the area in a few hours. The platoon was returning from a patrol in the district and stopped to help the villagers when they realized the dangers of the situation.
