small space idea for in home library: make a tiny library of your own. take one small closet, put in shelves and cut out part of the door and put in glass.

A cool way to make a tiny library of your own. Take one small closet, put in shelves and cut out part of the door and put in glass. Taa-dah! (I don't know anyone in NYC willing to sacrifice closet space for this project but I LOVE the idea!)

this could be so cool, the idea is neat but man the outside of the door needs some work... some color, some personality to complement the neatness of the idea! Take a small closet, fill in with built in book shelves, add glass door.... (and fix the outside finish!)

These would be amazing. Floor would be nice and open, the books are still easily accessible but cleaner, and they could all be great facades for posters/kid's art.

Nice.. though i don't think it's wise to place the sofa under the bookshelves. You'd keep banging your head when you want to get up.

if my future library doesn't require a ladder to reach all the shelves, it isn't big enough.

A personal library with a beautiful couch and a good supply of liquor. I love it.

Here's a pretty interesting library idea, although it would probably be hell on the books during the summer.

have a space with a loft bedroom? Maybe the only way to get up there is an impractical spiral staircase? replace the spiral with a teired stair case and make the supporting wall work for additional storage! a wall of shoes? extra linens? maybe a coat closet? so many possibilities for the grab and go...

Libraries to dream, think, read, contemplate, marvel, wonder, ponder, solve, nap, and drift off into the abyss.

this is from jokari.com for $10 but seems like you could make one too from a woven band with either snaps, velcro or ties for each purse and space as needed for your bags

Lots of books in this home library. I like the lit shelves scattered among the books.
