Workstations at the desk to reduce movement in the classroom. Love this seating arrangement for cooperative learning teams!

Everyone wears "multiplication name tags" throughout the day. You always call each other by their "name". This is Mr. 32.---Could do this with addition/subtraction facts or even sight words! I LOVE THIS IDEA!

Try Wall Pop dry erase stickers on a table in your classroom! I use it for spelling work, small group instruction, and math time. They add a pop of color, too!

BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK ACTIVITY: Love this idea to teach kids giving a book a chance. "Blind Date with a Book" Activity for independent reading. Wrap up books and decorate with key words that relate to each. Students pick a book, unwrap it, record it and read for 30 pages. Good date=keep it, finish it, review it. Bad date=return it, and write about why it wasn't the book for you. Great "get to know yourself as a reader" activity! I am SO doing this!

BOOK TASTING ACTIVITY: This could be fun for the beginning of the year. Have the kids "taste" different books and fill in their reading notebook with what books they want to read that year.

Book Reviews with a difference! Kids design a T-shirt to represent their book and then have to pitch the book to their classmates without giving away the ending.

This concept is so tough for kids. It is a great chart to add to a mini-lesson next year.

As a performance assessment, students created an angle out of spaghetti noodles, classified and measured the angles. They then created a picture using the angle to show angles in the real world. I created a bulletin board, "we sprangled into spring" using the pictures. The students really enjoyed it!
