I bet you could do this with existing cutting boards...use a little bit of food-safe stain on your board and seal with mineral oil. I think you'd have to tape your edge off and score the wood a bit to keep the stain from bleeding through. A good experiment at the very least.
Old Vintage Boards. I'm collecting cutting boards there stored under the island in a very large milk painted heavy basket because I'm crazy for baskets. I also bought a oval pot rack to hang not only my pots but drying herbs and flowers like lavender and I'm going to use rope LED lights wrapped all around the pot rack. Going slowing back to my copper pots. and I'm going to hang some of my baskets on the rack as well. Also collect rolling pins.
