Legend, Marie Lu - Such a good book series, absolutely worth reading. It is a little slow at the beginning but if you give this a chance you will not reget it

So everyone like me who loves all of these new dystopian future novels for young adults that have been coming out since the Hunger Games series became the next Harry Potter should definitely read this book: Legend, by Marie Lu. June and Day both grew up in the Republic, a country that consists of what was once the western united states, and that has been constantly at war with its neighbor, the colonies, since anyone can remember. June was born to one of the few wealthy elite families, and is a military prodigy. Day was born into the slums, and has lived as an outlaw for most of his life. Their two paths cross when Day becomes the number one suspect in the murder of June's brother, Metias, who is the only family she has left. But when the two come together, they find out that the Republic isn't the shining beacon of freedom it paints itself to be. Awesome book!

Worth Reading, And Series, L'Wren Scott, Young Adult, Book Worth, Hunger Games, Scott Westerfeld, Pretty, Book Series
Another post-apocalyptic distopian society young adult book series that I have become obsessed with. Sigh. (I blame The Hunger Games.)
Scott Westerfeld's Uglies series follows the story of Taly, who can't wait until she is 16 and can have the operations that make everyone in her society beautiful. But is there a dark undercurrent to the party lifestyle of the Pretties? Westerfeld's other books such as Midnighters and the steampunk influenced Leviathan are also worth reading.
Uglies is a young adult science fiction novel by Scott Westerfeld. It is the first book in the Uglies series.

Extras (Uglies Series #4) by Scott Westerfeld Overview Extras, the final book in the Uglies series, is set a couple of years after the “mind-rain,” a few earth-shattering months in which the whole world woke up. The cure has spread from city to city, and the pretty regime that kept humanity in a state of bubbleheadedness has ended. Boundless human creativity, new technologies, and old dangers have been unleashed upon the world.

Specials (Uglies Series #3) by Scott Westerfeld Overview "Special Circumstances": The words have sent chills down Tally's spine since her days as a repellent, rebellious ugly. Back then Specials were a sinister rumor — frighteningly beautiful, dangerously strong, breathtakingly fast. Ordinary pretties might live their whole lives without meeting a Special. But Tally's never been ordinary.
Thirteen Reasons Why-Jay Asher

"Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher. Bullying has claimed the life of way too many teenagers, including Hannah Baker, the fictional inspiration behind this book. Clay, who had a major crush on Hannah, finds a package with cassette tapes on his porch two weeks after Hannah’s death. In it, she recounts the 13 reasons why she took her life, including one that involves Clay. The book alternates between Hannah’s point-of-view (as told through the audio tapes) and Clay’s voice.
TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY BY JAY ASHER: Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush, who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. THIS sounds like a great book!!

Insurgent (Divergent Trilogy, #2) #Divergent #VeronicaRoth #Dystopian
Summer reading: For legions of The Hunger Games fans salivating for their next dystopian survival rations, the Divergent series offers toothsome fare. Insurgent, the sequel to the first book, plunges readers deeper into Tris Prior’s brutal world, where the only certainty has been her love for Tobias, a fellow Dauntless Faction member. Wasn't my favorite book, but it was still pretty awesome. The first book was better

14. A book worth reading: Divergent by Veronica Roth. The sequel, Insurgent is out this month. This is the best of contemporary YA dystopian literature ...you know, if you're into that kind of thing. *It's true I've absolutely both books.
Book Review of Divergent, by Veronica Roth #divergent #veronicaroth #insurgent #hungergames #thehungergames #tris #four #tobias #novel #fiction #books #reading #youngadult
Divergent, by Veronica Roth. If you need to get a dystopian fix, young adult series seem to be the thing now. This is the first of a trilogy, and certainly worth reading. If you liked The Hunger Games, you'll probably enjoy this series as well. About a 16 year old girl who lives in Chigaco - where the city is divided into 5 factions. When you are 16, you choose your faction, a choice that will define who and what you are for good. I really enjoyed this first book - interesting concept.
Matched by Ally Condie **** Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness (audio). Possibly the best YA book on the complexities of war and terrorism I've read.
[Book Review] - The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness: My Rating: 4.5 out of 5.0
Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness. Same vein as the Hunger Games, but much better in my opinion!
