If you buy the painters paper at Home Depot (stuff that they cover your floors with), you get a TON for very little $$. Very stiff paper, though - - smaller boxes were tricky. Butcher paper would work well, too.

If you ever receive a gift from my sister Kathleen *, it would look like this at a very minimum. She makes all her packages pieces of art -- the gift can almost be secondary at times. Seasonal finds, like this, or original art on paper, or unique things to tie together (chop sticks, birds' nets, old coins). She's a Wrap Artist.
