The Yosemite park covers 761,268 acres. The California Gold Rush in the mid-19th century dramatically increased white travel in the area. yosemite- half dome!! I've seen it in person from the bottom and the top and words cannot describe how majestic or how confusing it is! Where did it come from? How did it get to be that shape?? But a word of advice: DO NOT CLIMB THE FACE! When we were there in 2004, three climbers fell off and died :( But it's a beautiful state park and a MUST SEE
View of Half Dome, Yosemite I have hiked this trail with friends a number of times. It starts at Glacier Point and goes 8 miles past 3 waterfalls, down into the valley. The most memorable end to the hike involved a bottle of chilled, hard cider. Nothing had ever tasted so good before, nor has since!
