I think it'd be fun for each of the kids to pick their own color for the hunt and then see how many things in the house they can find of that color in a certain amount of time! "Color in a Bag" This "recipe" illustrates how to make your own colors, but you can also use tempera paint. I did this with my Kindergarten class and we practiced "writing" letters and numbers into our paint bags. You can also start with two primary colors in one bag and let your child squish them together to make a new color! Fun and clean!
Table Top Recycling Center for Kids. Garbage and recycling and their respective trucks are big hits at our house, as is Duplo. So I mixed the two together for a fun color sorting activity that went on and on ! The simplest things are usually the best.
