"Making Words" using sticky notes... I like how it's divided into beginning, middle, and ending sounds... could switch to have blends at the beginning and single consonants at the end... could also add -ed, -s, -es, & -ing... or you could use onsets and rimes... lots of possibilities. making this file folder game

coolest file folders with sticky notes on the inside that have letters on them, and she has her kids use the sticky notes to make words. when they are done making a word, they just put the sticky note back in it's "place" on the file folder. so much better than letter tiles that end up getting lost, on the floor, inside desks, you get the idea. whenever the sticky note loses it's sticky, you just quickly make a new one for whatever letter you need.

Zap It...a game I learned in grad school. Put high frequency words on sticks (these are foam sticks) and write zap it on a few sticks. The kids pull sticks from a container and read the words. If someone gets Zap It, all of the sticks go back in the bin. Great word work #daily5
