The Principles of Uncertainty by Maira Kalman. Part personal narrative, part documentary, part travelogue, part chapbook & all Kalman. Her brilliant, whimsical paintings, ideas & images, which initially appear random, ultimately form an intricately interconnected worldview, an idiosyncratic inner monologue. Kalman contends with some existential questions-What is identity? What is happiness? Why do we fight wars? And then, of course, death, love, and candy (not necessarily in that order.)

Own 3 similar to this, but in German. Beautiful little books with technical illustrations of the species: butterflies, shells, and birds. Would love to add this to the collection.

So cool. I'm really attracted to the collage look. I like how this is a collage but it makes something that is definable

Cover of Marguerite Duras's (French Authot & Auteur) 'Hiroshima Mon Amour' who also wrote the screenplay for the film directed by Alain Resnais.

This book cover holds a beautiful simplistic view even though there are a lot of elements involved, due to where they are positioned, balanced and how they're composed. The composition is separated into two parts- pictorial area, and a text area. This creates a nice tension between the two spaces, creating and making a nice simplistic, breathable cover on the eyes.

tesina Anders Peterson SOHO. Turning his direct and unflinching gaze to the streets of Soho, Petersen produced a series which is both penetrating and sensitive to his subjects. His intimate, diaristic style of coarse black and white photography captures the essence of today's Soho while drawing you back into the depths of its history.
