Army Spc. Rafael A. Carrillo Jr. Died June 28, 2005 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 21, of Boys Ranch, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; killed June 28 when an enemy mortar detonated near his Humvee in Baghdad.

Marine Capt. Eric D. Terhune Died June 19, 2008 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 34, of Lexington, Ky.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died June 19 while conducting combat operations in Farah Province, Afghanistan.

Army Staff Sgt. Brian R. Hellermann Died August 6, 2003 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 35, of Freeport, Minn.; assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died of injuries received when an Iraqi vehicle fired upon his unit during an ambush Aug. 6 in Baghdad.

Ramirez Died September 5, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 28, of San Antonio, assigned to 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Sept. 5 in Logar Province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when a OH-58D Kiowa helicopter crashed.

Navy Lt. Cmdr. (SEAL) Jonas B. Kelsall Died August 6, 2011 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 32, of Shreveport, La.; assigned to an East Coast-based SEAL team; died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when the CH-47 Chinook helicopter in which he was riding was shot down.

Army Command Sgt. Maj. Marilyn L. Gabbard Died January 20, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 46, of Polk City, Iowa; assigned to Joint Forces Headquarters, Iowa Army National Guard, Camp Dodge, Johnston, Iowa; died in Baghdad on Jan. 20 when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter she was in crashed.

Russell Died June 28, 2005 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 31, of Stafford, Va.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.; killed June 28 when an MH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed while ferrying personnel to a battle against militants in eastern Afghanistan.

Army Cpl. Jeremy R. Greene Died April 28, 2007 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 24, of Springfield, Ohio; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died April 28 at Forward Operating Base Tillman, Afghanistan, due to injuries sustained in a non-combat-related incident.

Army 2LT Emily J.T. Perez, 23, of Fort Washington, Maryland. Died September 12, 2006, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to 204th Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near her vehicle during combat operations in Kifl, Babil Province, Iraq.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Niall Lyons Died October 26, 2009 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 40, of Spokane, Wash., assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Regiment (Airborne), Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.; died Oct. 26 of wounds suffered when the MH-47 helicopter he was aboard crashed in Darreh-ye Bum, Afghanistan.
