Science Notebooking: More Title Pages - Middle School

  • Denise Whitley

Science journal: "She has them do their title pages for each unit. She also has them glue the main learning objectives (or we could do essential questions) on the left hand side then their colorful title page on the right. So much info on this blog."

LOVE INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS!!! Science Notebooking - I like how she has them do their title pages for each unit. :) She also has them glue the main learning objectives (or we could do essential questions) on the left hand side then their colorful title page on the right. So much info on this blog... must follow.

That's so funny! We'll have to talk about it in San Diego.

If you would like to have an interactive notebook for Writing Workshop... you will love this! It is jam packed with all the pages you will need to ...

I plan to do interactive notebooks next year, so logistics things like this are important. It's all about routines and consistency next year, and I especially love the calendar situation on the wall. I struggle with makeup work constantly due to your pretty serious absence problem. This takes the guess work out of it- for me and for them.

I feel as a fellow educator of the next generation I must tell you these are not mind maps. Mind maps are graphic organizers that start in a central image to mimic how your brain creates images and "branches" out with supplementary ideas like a tree. Mind maps were first introduced by, Tony Buzan, the term "mind map" arose during a 1974 BBC TV series he hosted, called Use Your Head.

  • Eric Vander Heyden

In this show, and companion book series, Buzan promoted his conception of radial tree, diagramming key words in a colorful, radiant, tree-like structure. [Wikipedia: "mind map"] I refer you to these images to educate your students using proper brain based review strategies. http://upload.wikimedia.org... http://storyflakes.wordpres... Thank you for your time, Eric

~*~ Vocab Foldables! Cut tabs into two long strips of paper and glue the edges down the length of the page so that term tabs can be flipped back to see responses on page underneath!

Write like a scientist. Could also adapt for "write like a historian" or "mathematician"

Summative display for weather unit - good for hallway to document learning
