Wooden pyramid options I've seen waste too much soil under unused space. Once the plants grow in you will have a nice strawberry terrace effect.     As you plant, put Epsom salts and sugar into each hole. Plants will grow larger, leafier and greener. 4(epsom salts) to 1(sugar) ratio.

    Roof-top pool gardens: fill a wading pool with vermiculite or gravel to 2 to 4 inches and top with soil mixture. Then drill holes through the sides where the vermiculite ends and soil starts.     Baking soda neutralizes the ph in the soil and nothing will grow there. Use baking soda in a 6" wide area around all of the edges of flower beds to keep the grass and weeds from growing into beds. Just sprinkle it onto the soil so that it covers it lightly. Do this twice a year - spring and fall.
