Johnstown was not the only place to see morbidly curious visitors (as it did after the 1889 Flood). Morgues were a popular tourist attraction in 19th century Paris. See attached article "Morgues in Parisian Culture (1867)" for more information.
Illustration showing spectators and sight-seers visiting the Paris Morgue, c. 1870s. The city had built a glass wall in front of a refrigerated room, so that the visiting public could help to identify unknown corpses, but it soon became simply a gruesome tourist attraction, drawing as many as 40,000 per day before the morgue closed to the public in 1907.
Pure fluff, just love this. “The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn’t discriminate people and doesn’t have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!”

If you’re near the Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong today, you may want to get down there to catch a glimpse of the world’s largest rubber duckie cruise the water. Dutch artist, Florentijn Hofman has brought his sculpture Rubber Duck around the globe to places such as San Paulo, Sydney and Osaka, with Hong Kong now on the list. Look at that thing! It’s adorable!
This week conceptual artist Florentijin Hofman brought his gargantuan Rubber Duck artwork to Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. The huge inflatable duck measures nearly 46 feet tall and 55 feet long and is shown above being pulled by a tug boat only a fraction of its size. Hofman is well known for his grandiose and whimsical sculptures that seem born with the primary goal of inducing as many smiles possible.

Mount Roraima, northern coast of South America. || Bordered by Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana, the mysterious table-top mountain is often seen swallowed into the clouds, thus venerated by natives as a sacred place, the home of Heaven itself. Its highest peak reaches 2,810 meters above sea level and is believed to be among the oldest geological formations on Earth, dating back 2 billion years ago.
Mount Roraima Venezuela. This is a just how I always imagined "That Place" from the beginning of book 6 of the Chronicles of Narnia (The Silver Chair). The boy and the girl are transported there and must jump off the cliff, through the clouds to reach Narnia. They fall for hours and hours. "The Place" is not a part of the world of Narnia, but rather apart from time...perhaps a place in heaven. Beautiful!

Nimbus D' Aspremont by Berndnaut Smilde. - Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde mists water in the air with a plant spray bottle, releases a burst of "fog" - actually a vaporised glycol-based compound - from a smoke machine, and employs backlighting to show off the resulting cloud to perfection.

15 Places You Won't Believe Exist. HAPPY MAGIC Beijing, China Officially known as the Beijing Water Cube Water Park, Happy Magic is part of the National Aquatics Center and is now Beijing’s most visited tourist spot after the Great Wall. Thanks to a major renovation in 2011, the place looks even more futuristic than on opening day in 2008: Think splashy colored tubes, transporting human water rockets through a system of slides twisting this way and that. —Lauren Viera.

This is not in Ireland, Dublin. Actually it doesn't exist as one. The rock is in Thailand and the castle is only a portion of Lichtenstein Castle (which is in Germany). There is a claim on the Internet along with the claim that "Castle House Island" is a real place in Dublin, Ireland. It's actually "James Bond Island" in Khao Phing Kan, Thailand. The castle was placed on the photo using Photoshop. So moral of the day, don't believe everything you see on the internet ;)
