A gem-set and seed pearl brooch pendant, circa 1900. The elaborate openwork plaque decorated with variously cut diamonds, emeralds, rubies and seed pearls, centrally set with two oval mixed-cut sapphires between opposing cobras rising above a scarab with splayed wings set with square-cut emeralds, rose-cut diamonds and circular-cut ruby eyes, terminating in three articulated drops set with rose-cut diamonds, the reverse with engraved detail, mounted in silver and gold, later brooch fitting.
