This is a great worksheet to teach similies! Worksheets are a great idea but computer paper can get very pricey especially if you have 20+ students or lots of classes! Also the time to make lots of copies would be a downside.

Revising vs. Editing - I like the idea of having a visual showing that revising and editing overlap.

This would be a great poster for grade classrooms! It can help students continually understand the difference between editing and revising and what similarities they have as well! Great resource for the classroom walls!

Disney Teachers: Figures of Speech Anchor Classroom Charts. You can take a photo of this with your iPad and make copies for the students to put into their journals. Using post-its, students can think of an example and "tag" to the corresponding figure of speech!

GREAT rap song to teach prefixes and suffixes! My 4th graders LOVED this! We made it a competition to see who could write down the most prefixes and suffixes after 3 times of playing it!

Word Work activities: She make a verb collage, but you could also make one with nouns, adjectives etc. Have students all bring in examples of each part of speech, then collage them to make separate classroom posters;
