    This is a biography bottle. The students used water bottles to make the body of the famous person they were studying. LOVE THIS!!!!

    This pin incorporates social studies and writing to write a classroom Bill of Rights. This would mean that students have to learn about the Bill of Rights and then decide what ideas represent the class to write their own version for the classroom. This could be done for many other things also.

    Mrs. T's First Grade Class: "We are learning about cardinal directions, so we used a 101-200 chart and post-its to help practice. The students put an x on a number I called out and then I would tell the students to go North 3 boxes and East 2 boxes. The students would have to color in the number they landed on."

    Hands on geography!! The teacher is reviewing latitude, longitude, hemispheres, continent and ocean names and cardinal/intermediate directions. Students use yarn for the Prime Meridian and Equator, and index cards with the names for the oceans. Then the class uses unifix cubes to mark all the spots they are responsible for being able to locate.
