Have your students design quilt squares for Memorial Day or September 11th to remember the soldiers or heroes that have died. Put the quilt squares together to make a class remembrance "quilt". Included also are activities for traits of a hero, examples of everyday heroes, and an acrostic poem for what it means to be heroic. Visit me at ideabackpack.blogspot.com to see pictures of class quilt squares we made to remember 9/11.
