Buttercream Frosting 2 Cups Unsalted Butter (I used 1.5 Cups Salted Butter and 1/2 Cup Crisco for firmness) 1 lb icing sugar, sifted 1 tsp Vanilla 1/8 tsp salt (omit if using salted butter) Notes: ~ Don't mix for more than 2-3 minutes ~ Sub in shortening for butter if you want to decorate with flowers or want a firmer texture ~ Make it once and then play with it

Beat 1 c. softened butter for about 3 minutes. Add 4 c. sifted confectioner's sugar and stir on low until incorporated. Add 1 T. vanilla extract and 3 T. heavy cream. Beat on medium-high for 3 minutes. If thinner frosting is desired, add additional cream 1 T. at a time until desired consistency is reached.

I've used this recipe to make frosting for sugar cookies, and it's been a hit! I've gotten lazy though and I just throw all the ingredients in my Blendtec and push the speed up button until it looks like frosting. So good and so easy!
