The Spiral staircase is located in the Vatican Museums - designed by Giuseppe Momo in 1932. The staircase is shaped like a double helix: it is made of two intertwined spirals allowing people to ascend without meeting people descending - the main purpose was to allow uninterrupted traffic in each direction.
