I am doing something like this with clothespins. I hung up two equal lengths of twine and put all of the clothespins on the top piece. I am moving a clothespin to the bottom piece of twine as I lose weight. The visual is really motivating! (I also marked every 10th clothespin with a star for further motivation.)
