Text messages - 80's and 90's style - the folding technique was very important! Omg I feel so old....

Highlight of my day! Text messages - 80's and 90's style - the folding technique was very important! @Michelle Mitchom

A walk down memory lane... Remember that cute boy that sat in front of you in Algebra class ;) did you pass a note to him? I did.. well in the form of a tiny spiral notebook, back and forth everyday. That was my favorite class that semester. It was fun to write and pass notes back and forth then, in class and between classes. We got kinda creative with the folding, and oh my gosh!!! what about the times when the note got lost.. and the thought of who will find it and what will they know...

Haha I remember passing notes around like crazy in middle school and high school lol

80's / 90's kid ~ before text messages. Don't get caught passing notes

the good ole days. Still have mine from high school and middle school.

Childhood Memories- 80's Technology

Elem. School this was ALL we did!

COOTIE CATCHERS 60's: Use to be called Fortune Tellers but began to be popular in the 60's. Noticed both my girls made these also with their friends at school in 90's and it provided a lot of entertainment during free time.! A Girl Thing.

Paper fortune tellers ruled your destiny... we called these cootie catchers, but I have seen these kind too.

Oh the fun we had with this...the Paper Fortune Teller #nostalgia #childhood #memories #retro

Remember this game? Cootie catcher/Fortune Teller. Oh the good old days.

Origami fortune tellers (did we call these cootie catchers in the 70's?)

paper fortune tellers We called them "cootie" catchers, too.

fortune teller This was so much fun in elementary school.

Paper Fortune Tellers--- 90s kid

You'll all remember these paper fortune tellers from your school days. Place your index fingers and thumbs underneath the 4 segments then flip back & forwards. Here's a reminder of the sequence involved - FT OPERATOR "Pick a colour" CLIENT "Blue" FT OPERATOR "B-L-U-E" FT OPERATOR "Pick a number" CLIENT "Three" FT OPERATOR "1-2-3" FT OPERATOR "Pick another number" CLIENT "Eight" FT OPERATOR lifts flap and reads out what is written underneath the number 8 segment. At primary school in the 60's we usually had silly things written like "You fancy the teacher" or something. In secondary in the 70's it was the same kind of thing...only X-Rated.!!

Loved these as a kid and still do as an adult, can't wait for the 4th of July!

If you remember these you probably had an awesome childhood

I still get these every year around the 4th of July :)

#OldSchool #80's - Do they still make these??

Still play with them on the 4th of July!

remember this!? i wonder how these things became "viral" in the 80's pre-internet days...

I REMEMBER THIS!!! MASH Game (the fortune-telling game of pre-teen girls in the 60's, 70's & 80's) MASH stands for Mansion - Apartment - Shack - House1. Write down five each of the following: names, types of cars, colors, number of children, places, and careers. 2. Then, one person starts drawing a spiral on a piece of paper and the person whose fortune is being told tells her when to stop. Then, you count across the spiral top to bottom to get the magic number for the game.

I remember playing MASH on the playground at school nearly every day! *LOVE*

Bahaha what 90s kid didnt play MASH!?!?! Lol

So remember this! Ah, the good ole days.

Oh do I remember playing this 80's baby

brings back childhood memories

memory lane...

Anyone remember playing MASH??? You know...MASH! The elementary school game that foretold your future on paper. Would you live in a Mansion, Apartment, Shack, or House? And with which boy? (And you weren't allowed to pick all cute ones; you had to play fair by throwing in an icky one or two. Karma demands justice after all.) And driving how many kids in what kind of car? This game is thorough. It even predicts what city and what career you will have. Or whatever other things you must know about your future. Remember now? Do girls still play this?? I sure hope so because guess what... It's true! Who knew that I actually would end up driving a minivan and living in a shack... ...as a mommy of four kids...Did I just say four? Yes. Yes I did. But it's with the love of my life, "Joe"... So that makes it all okay. Wanna play?? Find the rules HERE to play it old school or go HERE to play online. BUT be careful! This game is powerful! Are you prepared for the consequences??? P.S. Now do you get why I have been such a delinquent blogger lately???

Oh so true

This will one day be a Sheldonism, "Did you know that the reason we say, 'Roll down the window.' is that in ancient times, car windows were not sent down by the mere press of a button. No, our ancestors had to crank them down wilth a handle attached to side of the door. You would think that our ancestors would have been smart enough to say "Crank down the window.'"

I never really thought about this, but it's so true! I said "Dial her phone number for me." the other day and my daughter said "Why do we dial when we are pressing buttons?"

90s Kids Are Probably The Last Generation To Use One Of These...

Typing Class

typing class...I did it in Jr. High with a huge, clunky manual typewriter and again in High School with the IBM Selectric.

Typing class my senior year in high school -- so glad I took it -- even before there were personal computers!

1970s typing classes. I took it in high school. 1975 for me. I practiced at home on my grandfather's manual typewriter to increase my speed. These look like IBM Selectric III typwriters. Brenda Dunlap

Typing class in high school. One of the best skills I ever learned. Thank goodness the computer keyboard remained the same!

Typing class (given the "computer age" this ended up being the most useful class of junior high school!)

Typing class....in high school. Back in junior high, we used manual typewriters, they were black (forgot the brand) and weighed a ton.

We can't help but get nostalgic thinking about growing up in the 1990s. Thinking of those days reminds us of the music, fashion, heartthrobs, toys, and TV shows that made the '90s totally rad. So let's take a trip down memory lane to our '90s girlhood,

Check it! Back in my day the Teenage mutant ninja turtles had pupils (not the freaky white spaces of the current TMNT) and were so cool Mr. Sketch Scented Markers 80's Child.
