James Tissot || (1836 – 1902) French painter and illustrator

James Tissot (French painter) spent most of his life time in Britain his themes were of elegantly dressed women shown in scenes of the fashionable life. Later he had a religious awakening and painted the old and new testament scenes of the Bible which won great critical acclaim for his time in London, Paris and New York.
