The color red: Red was a symbol throughout the story of the passion between Tom and Myrtle which lead to her bloody red nose and bloody death. Fitzgerald writes “Making a short deft movement, Tom Buchanan broke her nose with his open hand. Then there were bloody towels upon the bathroom floor, and women's voices scolding, and high over the confusion a long broken wail of pain" (Fitzgerald 37.) The red blood is used to define Myrtle through the story and foreshadowed the idea of future injuries because of the relationship. The red poppys show how Myrtle wanted to appear beautiful on the outside, but her passion leads to her bloody (red) death.

I love sunset, it is my favorite time of day to shoot. I also love the vivid colors in this photo. I am attracted to bright colors or colors in general. Being in color is definitely more my personality vs. black and white or muted color.
