Note to self: good idea for a headboard - make with shelf!

DIY Wall Art. I would love to make something like this and use it as a headboard over our bed! I would make it big enough to be used with our king bed, add an under-piece that would go behind the bed, with a shelf dividing the two (small, useful for holding eye glasses, etc). It would also be cool to fit it with hidden light ropes on the sides and maybe top, to be used as night lights!

Pick up these crates at Michaels for about $4. Stain or paint. Add a pair of shelve racks from Home Depot and Wa La...you have an attractive storage unit for towels or anything else that requires easy access. (note: Reinforce the crate by securing with screws through the wood into the wall.)
