KLH Model 17 was one of the best budget speakers, despite its crude appearance. An air suspension woofer and cone tweeter gave clean sound with a surprising level of detail. The cone tweeter had low distortion but lacked the airiness of better tweeters. Yet, the 17 didn't sound dull or muffled. Still popular today, they were the creation of Henry L. Kloss; KLH is his initials reversed.
