Lady Lilith - Oil on canvas - Dante Gabriel Rossetti - c. 1868 Of Adam’s first wife, Lilith, it is told (The witch he loved before the gift of Eve.) That, ere the snake’s, her sweet tongue could deceive, And still her enchanted hair was the first gold. And still she sits, young while the earth is old, And, subtly of herself contemplative, Draws men to watch the bright web she can weave, Till heart and body and life are in its hold. The rose and poppy are her flowers; for where Is he not found, O Lilith, whom shed scent And soft-shed kisses and soft sleep shall snare? Lo! as that youth’s eyes burned at thine, so went Thy spell through him, and left his straight neck bent, And round his heart one strangling golden hair. — D. G. Rossetti

Still need to see David Shrigley (and Jeremy Deller) at the Hayward
Artists, Inspiration, Lost Pigeon, Poster Frame-Black, Funny Stuff, Hayward Galleries, Things, Lost Pidgeon, David Shrigley
David Shrigley is a weird artist. Some of his artwork doesn't appeal like art at all, however he does humor me with other pieces. He is a beautiful artist because he thinks out of the box, or perhaps in the box.. He says things like they are. He's beautiful because he's honest and upfront.

Infinitas Gracias: Mexican miracle paintings- went to this exhibition last year at the Wellcome collection in London. Very Moving and interesting.
Mexican votives are small paintings, usually executed on tin roof tiles or small plaques, depicting the moment of personal humility when an individual asks a saint for help and is delivered from disaster and sometimes death.
