ca. 1860-80s, [hand-tinted tintype portrait of a proud dentist with a pulled tooth of his bloodied patient] via Be-Hold, Photographic Gallery

Jaipreet Virdi (@jaivirdi) | Twitter: 18th-century artwork of a dentist holding a string attached to a patient's tooth, while brandishing a hot coal held in a pair of tongs.

There is, despite the 150 or so years that have passed since it was captured, something rather modern about this Victorian image, which I think stems from how causally (for the era) the young woman's hair was styled. #Victorian #photograph #antique #vintage #woman
