Above is a garment from Alexander McQueen’s 2009 Pre-Fall Collection. This collection incorporates styles from the 19th century. It can be said that inspiration of the 2 –piece garment was drawn primarily from 19th century menswear (waistcoat and trousers). The garment also has a sheath silhouette that was adopted by women during the second bustle period. Additionally, the look was accessorized with a walking stick and a bowler hat that was commonly worn during the Victorian era.
