The Magic Hat by Mem Fox. A great book to learn about rhyme. A child 54- 60 months is able to tell whether or not two words rhyme (e.g. cat/book vs cat/hat) and Rhymes words (e.g. Tell me something that rhymes with cat). Try reading each page to your child and seeing if they can guess the rhyming animal that the hat will land on. It is also a lovely book for looking at prepositions on/off, over/under/ through. A child 12-18 months begins to use on and off.
