Orange Bakelite Bangles; I don't do bracelets, but these are just so juicy.

Bakelite Bangles, 1930s/40s by galessa's plastics, via Flickr

An assortment of bangles made of cast Phenolic Resin, a plastic also known as Bakelite or Catalin. Hand made from Bakelite tubes cut, carved and polished and sometimes dyed by artisans. These tubes were about the same height of these stacks. The mix with other materials was common, as seen here with wood and mother-of-pearl. These bangles were in fashion from 1930 to after the war. They all have the standard inner measure of 2 and a half inches.

This pic of Bakelite was collected by a person named @onesweetpeach, she says she found them one by one at flea markets, thrift shops, etc. Impressive.

Would love to find these in my Christmas stocking this year
