Some Bob Marley for me and my daddy. Thanks for introducing me to music.... also known as LIFE. Love you daddy<3
Today, February 6, 2013, would have been noted ping pong player Bob Marley’s 68th Birthday (and yes, 68 does sort of look like a ping pong paddle and 2 balls). Marley, born February 6, 1945, was also known for his music’s revolutionary sound, but for our purposes today, we’re celebrating the rasta ping pong player.
Making a new summer play list. First track -- the live version of Lively Up Yourself. An all-time favorite! “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” -- Bob Marley
This is an image I found of Bob Marley on Pinterest. This motivates my autonomy and purpose need. Bob Marley reminds me to give back to my environment and that encouraging love through my music is the greater purpose behind what I do. Mr. Marley also reminds me to hold true to my beliefs, although they may be unpopular.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. Bob Marley 💚💛❤

Nina Simone: “There's no excuse for the young people not knowing who the heroes and heroines are or were.” Simone came to be known as the protest singer of the civil rights movement. She wrote "To be young, gifted, and black," borrowing the title of a play by her friend, Lorraine Vivian Hansberry, which became a popular anthem of the Civil Rights Movement. #FightRacism
Nina Simone - One of the most extraordinary artists of the twentieth century, an icon of American music. She was the consummate musical storyteller, who used her remarkable talent to create a legacy of liberation, empowerment, passion, and love through a magnificent body of works. She earned the moniker ‘High Priestess of Soul’ for she could weave a spell so seductive and hypnotic that the listener lost track of time and space. A rare talent indeed.
Nina Simone (born Eunice Waymon), singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, and civil rights activist. Called the High Priestess of Soul, her music transitioned from gospel to blues, jazz, folk, and to European classical styling. She incorporated monologues and dialogues with the audience into programs, and often used silence as a musical element. Her hits include I Put a Spell on You, Ne Me Quitte Pas, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, Feeling Good, My Baby Just Cares for Me and Four Women. R.I.P.

Bill Evans | by Roberto Polillo. In the spring of 1958, Evans began an eight-month gig with the Miles Davis Sextet. He was deeply involved in the planning and execution of Davis' epochal Kind of Blue album in 1959, contributing ideas about mood, structure, and modal improvisation, and collaborating on several of the compositions. The album contains some of the most moving performances of Evans' career.
