vivien maier - documentary to come out in 2013 Finding Vivian Maier.
Street Photography: The Mysterious Story of Vivian Maier - For decades Vivian’s work hid in the shadows until decades later (in 2007), historical hobbyist John Maloof bought a box full of never developed negatives at a local auction for $380 and discovered perhaps the most important street photographer of the twentieth century.
Vivian Maier selfportrait
Vivian Maier - the unseen photographs of a legend who never was. "quite possibly the most important street photographer of the 20th century was a 1950s children’s nanny who kept to herself and never showed a single one of her photographs to anyone."
Self Portrait, 1959 - Vivian Maier. She is probably one of the most talented street photographers unknown to the world until John Maloof uncovered her incredible collection of 100,000 negatives she kept to herself until 2007. Check out her story in the upcoming film "Finding Vivian Maier" http://findingvivianmaier.com
I heart Vivian Maier.

Adriana Lestido.
ANNIE LEIBOVITZ - ESCAPE My work forces me to travel all the time. Flights, delays, lost baggage, jet lag, endless journeys onboard the weirdest means of transport. No matter how far I travel, I can never escape the way I can when I am behind my camera. That is my real break from the world, those are the moments I dedicate to myself.

Lee Miller with Rolleiflex camera, Egypt, 1935. / Known as a portraitist & fashion photographer, Miller also made many remarkable Surrealist images; in 1939 she became a staff photographer for Vogue magazine just as the war broke out. Astoundingly for the time, she became an accredited correspondent to the US Army, & was probably the only woman combat photojournalist to cover the war in Europe.
Photographer Lee Miller with Rolleiflex, Egypt, 1935 | Elizabeth "Lee" Miller, Lady Penrose (23 Apr 1907 – 21 Jul 1977) Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, she was a successful fashion model in New York City in the 1920s before going to Paris, where she became an established fashion and fine art photographer. During the Second World War, she was an acclaimed war correspondent for Vogue, covering events such as the London Blitz, liberation of Paris, and concentration camps at Buchenwald and Dachau.

This photo by Diane Arbus was one of her shots where she asked a man to pose in a feminine manner. I enjoyed this photo called “A young man in curlers at home on West 20th Street, N.Y.C.” because this is one of the pieces where she showed the life style that was hidden to the common people that knew this man.

Diane Arbus I really like this photograph as it looks to be of two generations. The different tones of white, grey and black add to the character of this photograph well. Having the the c camera so close to he subjects faces allows the viewer to take the detail of their faces and to really focus on the little things in this image. The background being clouds add another interesting aspects to this photograph
