"Organized retail crime".... is a fast growing problem that is causing stores to lose $30 billion annually in the US and more than 45 other countries. Unlike shoplifting that is usually one person, these are large-scale thefts from many stores and a fencing operation to sell the goods on and offline. Safeway alone looses about $100 million in thefts each year. One more reason for the increase in prices for our groceries.
