who knew: pennies in the garden repel slugs and make hydrangeas blue! "Here’s a simple garden art project, that is wonderfully mindless. Use a strong glue to attach your surplus pennies to a thrift store bowling ball. It would be a great project to do with your kids on a rainy day. For the glue, my favorite is made by Amazing Goop, and I use the Home and Garden or Marine formula, because they are UV resistant as well as waterproof."

REALLY COOL IDEA!!!! who knew: pennies in the garden repel slugs and make hydrangeas blue. Really?? Will have to try this! glue 1-2 layers of pennies on an old bowling ball with E-6000 craft glue. They tend to slide around a bit till the glue firms up, so work in small areas at a time, keeping the freshly glued area at the top to minimize sliding. Once you have an area securely glued, it will keep the newly glued areas from sliding.

I know I pinned this before, but I want to do these footprints on the edging of the back garden near our door. Great craft with the kid - find the right river rocks, sticking them, etc!

Concrete balls nestled in shade garden... in the PNW and other wet areas, these will soon turn into moss balls!

OK. Anything that encourages kids to throw rocks doesn't belong in our courtyard garden. BUT THIS IS SO FUN! Can't we do something like this that doesn't involve stone projectiles?!? We could use a bit of whimsy in the center of this place "where excellence is a way of life."

I may do this to our back fence!! Add marbles, and make a new creation!

The reels were put to use as vertical planters. The little herb pots fit perfectly in the holes. All you need to do is slip them in at a slight angle to keep them in place.
