My co-workers laugh at my "work ethic". Here's my thought: there are MILLIONS of people unemployed in AMERICA in 2013. I am blessed to have a job. So I'm going to work it to the best of my ability. If you're not going to work, quit and let someone who needs that job have it. There's NO EXCUSE for laziness at work!!!!!!!!!!
One teacher says that she used it with her fourth graders. They read it and then discussed all that we "don't like" to do, but are grateful for, as in this passage. Then each wrote his/her own poem "I don't like __ but I'm thankful for it because it means ___."
I first read the quote "Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication" in Walter Isaacsons book "Steve Jobs". This practical approach to thinking is how I tackle all problems in my everyday life. See the big picture in its simplest form then look beyond it.
