Charles Edward Johnson, Jr. is an American former professional baseball player. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball with the Florida Marlins , the Los Angeles Dodgers , the Baltimore Orioles , the Chicago White Sox , the Colorado Rockies , and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays . Johnson was considered as one of the best defensive catchers of his era, winning four consecutive Gold Glove Awards between 1995 and 1998.
